Your OpenCart shop on eBay. This extension connects your shop to your own eBay seller account so that listings, stock, price and orders move without copy and paste. It is a two-way connector: products go out, paid orders and tracking come back into your shop.

How do I install the extension?
- Upload. Extensions > Installer: upload the .ocmod.zip. It is for OpenCart 4 (4.0.2 to 4.1.x).
- Install and enable. Extensions > Extensions > Modules: install, open the settings and switch it on. Events register themselves; nothing is patched.
- Enter the license key. Paste the key from My licenses. Subdomains, staging and local hosts are included; you have 14 days to do it.

Which OpenCart versions does it work with?
OpenCart 4.1.0.4. Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4. The Compatibility tab lists every version range.
Do the extensions change core files?
No. They work through OpenCart events and standard extension types (modules, order totals, themes). No core file edits, no OCMOD patches, no theme template edits, so OpenCart updates and other extensions keep working.
What does the license cover?
One production store domain with every subdomain (www, shop., staging.), plus local development hosts such as localhost, *.local and *.test. A store on another domain needs its own license; a second-store license is 40% off. Overview
eBay Marketplace Connector sells your OpenCart catalogue on eBay with your own eBay developer keyset. You map your categories and item specifics once, set your price rules and stock buffer, and the extension publishes your products through the eBay Sell Inventory API, keeps stock and price in sync in bulk, imports paid eBay orders as real OpenCart orders, and reports the tracking number back to eBay as a shipping fulfillment.
What it does
- Connection. Client ID (App ID) and client secret (Cert ID) of your own eBay application, test (Sandbox) and live (Production) side by side, stored encrypted and shown only as a hint afterwards. The seller authorizes the application once on eBay's consent page (OAuth authorization code flow); the extension keeps the refresh token (valid for about 18 months) and renews the short access token itself.
- 13 eBay marketplaces. United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. The marketplace sets the currency and the language of the listing.
- Category and item specifics. Search the eBay category tree of your marketplace (Commerce Taxonomy API), map it to your store categories, and map every required item specific (Brand, Color, Model ...) to a product attribute, the manufacturer, the model, the SKU or a fixed value.
- Listings. Per product: inventory item, offer (marketplace, category, price, quantity, your business policies, your location) and publish. Per product you see whether it is not listed, waiting or live, and the exact message eBay returned when it refuses a step.
- Price rules and stock buffer. Markup in percent and a fixed amount, price endings (x.99, x.90, whole numbers), exchange rate from your OpenCart currencies or your own, units kept back, zero limit and maximum. Stock and price go out with the bulk call (up to 25 SKUs per request); nothing is re-sent when nothing changed.
- Orders. Paid eBay orders become OpenCart orders: buyer, delivery address (the state is mapped to an OpenCart zone), lines at the unit price eBay sold them, the delivery cost the buyer paid as a shipping row, the status you choose and the stock taken like a normal order. Limits to know
- You need your own eBay seller account with business policies and your own eBay developer keyset. eBay asks every application to handle Marketplace Account Deletion notifications before it issues Production keys: see Installation.
- eBay is polled by cron: the extension exposes no notification endpoint, so new orders arrive at the next sync.
- Not included in 1.0: returns, cancellations and refunds (use eBay Seller Hub), variation (multi-variant) listings, auctions (fixed price listings only), more than one inventory location, used or refurbished conditions (listings are created as New).
- eBay managed payments are assumed. Disputes and cases stay in eBay Seller Hub.
- Imported orders are written directly and do not fire the order e-mails or the events of other extensions.
- Tested against a stand-in of the eBay APIs built from the official OpenAPI files, not against a live seller account. Run a Sandbox test first.

Installation and setup
Requires OpenCart 4.1 (tested on 4.1.0.4), PHP 7.4 or newer with the cURL and OpenSSL extensions.
What you need from eBay
- An eBay seller account that is opted in to business policies (Seller Hub > Account > Business policies) with at least one fulfillment (shipping), one payment and one return policy for the marketplace you sell on.
- Your own eBay developer account (free) with an application keyset, created at developer.ebay.com: an App ID (client ID) and a Cert ID (client secret), for the Sandbox and, once the keyset is enabled, for Production.
- A RuName (redirect URL name) for each keyset. In the developer account open User Tokens for the keyset, create a RuName and enter the address shown on the Connection page of the extension as its auth accepted URL. That address is

Install the extension
- In the admin go to Extensions > Installer, upload
kv_ebay.ocmod.zipand click Install. - Extensions > Extensions, choose "Modules", find "eBay Marketplace Connector" and click Install (the green button).
- Click Edit. Switch the connector on and, if you have one, enter your Kavio Labs license key. Without a key the extension works for 14 days.
- The eBay pages are under Sales > eBay: Listings, Connection, Categories, Attributes, Rules, Orders, Log, Jobs.
- Cron. The install registers an hourly entry in the OpenCart cron, which needs the standard OpenCart cron line on your server (shown on the settings page). For a faster sync call the secret web address from the settings page every few minutes with your host cron.
Connect eBay (Sandbox first)
- Open Sales > eBay > Connection. Choose mode Test (the eBay Sandbox), enter the Sandbox App ID and Cert ID, the Sandbox RuName and your marketplace. Save.
- Copy the address shown under "eBay authorization" into the auth accepted URL of the RuName in your developer account (once per RuName). The address must be reachable from the internet over https.
- Press Connect to eBay. eBay asks you to sign in and to let the application use your inventory, orders and account settings. After you agree you land on a short confirmation page of your shop. The extension keeps the authorization encrypted.
- Press Save and test: the message names the marketplace and your seller status.
- Enter the fulfillment, payment and return policy IDs of your account (press Show my policies to list them) and the inventory location key. If you have no warehouse location yet, fill the address fields, save and press Create location.
- Map a category and its required item specifics, add a product and sync (see Usage).
- Switch to Live only after a successful test and repeat steps 1 to 5 with the Production keyset and RuName.
Marketplace Account Deletion notifications (required by eBay)
Before eBay issues Production keys for your own keyset, every application must either subscribe to eBay's Marketplace Account Deletion notifications or opt out of them. This is done once per keyset in your eBay developer account (Application Keys > Notifications > Alerts and Notifications); source: https://developer.ebay.com/marketplace-account-deletion.
The extension polls eBay and exposes no notification endpoint. You therefore have two ways:
- Subscribe with an endpoint you operate. Enter an alert e-mail address, an https endpoint you own and a verification token of 32 to 80 characters (letters, digits,
_and-). eBay sendsGET <endpoint>?challenge_code=...and expects{"challengeResponse": SHA-256 hex of challengeCode + verificationToken + endpoint}; notifications then arrive as POST requests that you must acknowledge. When one arrives, delete the buyer's personal data from the imported OpenCart orders. - Opt out (exemption). The exemption is meant for applications that do not store eBay user data. The extension imports orders, with buyer name and address, into OpenCart orders, so choose the exemption reason that is true for your shop and read eBay's warning that wrong information can lead to penalties or a disabled account. If you state that the application does not store eBay user data beyond the order import into your own shop, make sure that is accurate.
Sandbox keys do not need this step.
Update
Upload the new package in Extensions > Installer. Settings, credentials and data are kept; missing tables and settings are added on the first request after the update. See CHANGELOG.
Uninstall
Extensions > Extensions > Modules > eBay Marketplace Connector > Uninstall removes the mappings, rules, queue, log and the stored credentials and tokens. The OpenCart orders that were imported stay, and listings created on eBay stay on eBay.

Connection (Sales > eBay > Connection)
Credentials are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM, key derived from your store's own encryption key), never shown again, and an empty secret field keeps the saved value.

The authorization (access and refresh token) is stored encrypted next to the keyset and is removed when the keyset changes or on Disconnect.
Rules (Sales > eBay > Rules)
Markup in percent and a fixed amount, price endings, list price from your special prices or a percent, exchange rate (1 = use the OpenCart currency of the marketplace currency code), stock buffer, zero limit, maximum, default weight, brand source (manufacturer or a product attribute), automatic listing, the own-carrier tracking switch, tracking link template and the status mapping from eBay to OpenCart order statuses. Markup can also be set per category (Categories page) and per product.
Cron
The install registers an hourly entry in the OpenCart cron (Extensions > Cron Jobs). For a faster sync call the secret web address shown on the settings page every few minutes:

Overlapping runs are prevented. A wrong key answers 403.
Log and jobs
- Log lists every call and job with filters and a CSV export.
- Jobs lists the queue. A failed job is retried after 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours and 12 hours, then marked "Gave up"; use Retry to queue it again, or "Run the queue now".
Usage
- Connect (Sales > eBay > Connection): save the keyset, press "Connect to eBay", then "Save and test". The result names the marketplace and your seller status.
- Map a category and its required item specifics. The category list comes from eBay's category tree for your marketplace (the first load takes a moment because the tree is large). On Attributes map each item specific (Brand, Color, Model ...) to a product attribute, the manufacturer, the model, the SKU or a fixed value. A required item specific without a value stops the listing with a readable message before anything is sent.
- List products. On Listings add a product by ID with its SKU (the SKU becomes the eBay SKU; when the product has an EAN code of 8, 12 or 13 digits it is sent as EAN or UPC) or add all products of a category. Listing a product makes three calls: the inventory item (title, description, images, item specifics, quantity, weight, condition New), the offer (marketplace, category, price, quantity, your business policies, your location) and the publish. A rejected step shows eBay's reason in the Last error column, for example "Item specific Brand is missing"; fix it and press Retry. An offer that already exists on eBay for the marketplace is updated, not created twice.
- Stock and price follow your catalogue. A change to a mapped product, or an order that takes its stock, goes out with one bulk call (up to 25 SKUs per request) at the next sync. Prices are sent in the currency of the marketplace, converted with the OpenCart currency of the same code or the fixed rate on Rules. A stock of zero sends quantity 0.
- Orders. Paid orders changed since the last run are read from eBay and appear under Sales > Orders with the note "eBay order ...": buyer, delivery address (state as the OpenCart zone), lines at the unit price as sold, and the delivery cost the buyer paid as a shipping row. Unpaid and failed orders are not imported; a paid order that is cancelled later follows with the status mapped on Rules. An order whose item has no mapped product is shown on the Orders page under "Failed imports only" with the reason ("No product mapping for barcode ...") and retried.
- Ship. Set the order to Shipped and add a history comment with the tracking number and carrier, for example
Tracking: ABC123 carrier: UPS. The order page shows the number found. At the next sync the extension creates the shipping fulfillment at eBay for the order lines with that carrier and tracking number, once. Use a carrier name eBay knows (USPS, UPS, DHL, Royal Mail ...); an unknown name is sent as entered.
Run the queue by hand on the Jobs page with "Run the queue now".
Not in this version
Returns, cancellations and refunds are handled in eBay Seller Hub; the extension shows no Returns page and no cancel button. Variation listings, auctions, used conditions and more than one inventory location are not supported.

Set the setting module_kv_ebay_base_url (development only) to the address of the mock, for example http://127.0.0.1:11901; one URL then serves the OAuth host, api.ebay.com and apiz.ebay.com.

Does it need OCMOD or core edits?
No. Events and the OpenCart cron only.
Which OpenCart versions?
OpenCart 4.1 (tested on 4.1.0.4). There is no OpenCart 3 edition.
Do I need an eBay developer account?
Yes, a free one. You create your own application keyset (App ID and Cert ID) and a RuName at developer.ebay.com, and grant the application access to your seller account once. Nothing is shared with other merchants.
Do I need to handle eBay account deletion notifications?
Yes. eBay requires every application either to subscribe to them or to opt out before Production keys are issued. The extension exposes no notification endpoint, so you subscribe with an endpoint you operate or use eBay's exemption. See "Marketplace Account Deletion notifications" in Installation.
Where are my credentials stored?
In your own database, encrypted with a key derived from your store's encryption key. They are never shown again after saving.
Does it send data to Kavio Labs?
No. The extension talks to eBay only. The licence check sends your domain name to the Kavio Labs licence server once a day.
Which eBay sites are supported?

Does it sync variations, auctions, used items or vehicle compatibility?
No. Version 1.0 creates fixed price listings for single products, condition New. Handle the rest in eBay Seller Hub.
Are returns, cancellations and refunds handled?
No. Use eBay Seller Hub.
"Not authorized" or "connect again". The refresh token expired (about 18 months), was revoked, or the keyset changed. Press "Connect to eBay" again.
Press "Connect to eBay" and eBay shows an error. Check that the RuName belongs to the keyset and mode you use and that its auth accepted URL is exactly the address on the Connection page, over https.
A product shows "Required attribute ... has no value". Map that item specific on Attributes (or give a fixed value) and press Retry.
A product shows an eBay policy or location error. Check the three policy IDs and the location key on Connection ("Show my policies").
What happens when eBay is down?
Jobs fail, wait and are retried (5 minutes up to 12 hours). Nothing is lost and nothing is sent twice.
What happens when the licence expires?
New work stops. The admin pages stay open and work already under way is finished.
How do I get updates and support?
