What it does
Labels on OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x product images in every list and on the product page: Sale -25%, New, Only 3 left, Bestseller, Top rated, Free shipping or your own text and sticker images, with the numbers filled in per product. Make shoppers stop on the right products. Shoppers scan images first. Labels mark the deals, the new arrivals, the last pieces and the favourites, and rules keep them right while prices, stock and sales change.

First release: labels on product cards (category, search, specials, brand pages, product modules, related products) and the main product image, laid over the image that links to the product so they work with most themes; rules for discount range, special price, new product, stock range, out of stock, bestseller, top rated, price range, category and brand, matched all or any, plus picked products; placeholders {discount}, {save}, {stock}, {days_left} and {rating}; 7 CSS shapes, 9 positions, 3 sizes, colours, 4 finishes, 4 fonts, 12 icons and sticker images; start and end dates and customer groups; list order and a per-image limit; preset gallery with 14 designs; editor with live preview; product checker with the reason for every label; picked products removed with their product.
How do I install the extension?
Upload. Extensions > Installer: upload the .ocmod.zip for your OpenCart version (4.x or 3.0.x). Both packages come with every license.
Install and enable. Extensions > Extensions > Modules: install, open the settings and switch it on. Events register themselves; nothing is patched.
Enter the license key. Paste the key from My licenses. Subdomains, staging and local hosts are included; you have 14 days to do it.
OpenCart 4.1.0.4, 3.0.5.1. Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and OpenCart 3.0.5.1. The Compatibility tab lists every version range.
Do the extensions change core files?
No. They work through OpenCart events and standard extension types (modules, order totals, themes). No core file edits, no OCMOD patches, no theme template edits, so OpenCart updates and other extensions keep working.
Do I get packages for OpenCart 4 and OpenCart 3?
Yes. Every download has a package for OpenCart 4.0.2 to 4.1.x and one for OpenCart 3.0.3 to 3.0.5, and the license key works with both. Moving from OpenCart 3 to 4 later costs nothing.
What does the license cover?
One production store domain with every subdomain (www, shop., staging.), plus local development hosts such as localhost, *.local and *.test. A store on another domain needs its own license; a second-store license is 40% off. You have 14 days after installing to enter the key. 12 months of updates and support are included; after that the extension keeps working and renewals are 50% off. How licensing works
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Ask for a full refund within 30 days of your first purchase, no reason needed: open a ticket or write to [email protected] with your order number. The money goes back to the card or bank account you paid with within 5 business days of approval. Refund policy
How do I get help?
Open a ticket from your account, so your license details are attached. We answer Monday to Friday: bug reports within 1 business day, how-to questions within 2. Support policy. Not a customer yet? Ask a pre-sales question.
Product Labels & Badges draws labels on your product images: "-25%", "New", "Only 3 left", "Bestseller", "Top rated", "Free shipping" or your own text and sticker images. Rules read your product data, so the labels stay right while prices, stock and sales change.
Everywhere a product is shown. Category, search, specials and brand pages, the product modules (featured, bestsellers, latest, specials), related products and the main image of the product page.
Rules from your data. Discount of at least or at most a percentage, special price, new product, stock range, out of stock, bestseller (units sold in a period), top rated (average stars and review count), price range, category and brand. Combine rules (all or any) or pick products by hand.
Live values.{discount}, {save}, {stock}, {days_left} and {rating} are filled in per product; a label whose value is missing for a product is simply not shown.
Your design. 7 CSS shapes (pill, rectangle, ribbon, price tag, round sticker, starburst, corner band), 9 positions, 3 sizes, your colours, 4 finishes, 12 icons, or a sticker image from the image manager.
Fourteen ready designs in the preset gallery, a live preview in the editor and a product checker that shows, for any product, which labels show and why the others do not.
Schedules and customer groups. Start and end dates, labels for some customer groups only.
Labels are laid over the image that links to the product, so they work with themes that change the product card. No OCMOD, no core file edits, no image editing. One licence covers OpenCart 4 and 3. Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and 3.0.5.1 with the default themes; other 4.0.2.x to 4.1.x and 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.5.x versions are expected to work but are not tested.
Installation
Requirements
OpenCart 4.0.2.0 to 4.1.x, or 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.5.x
PHP 7.4 or newer
Install on OpenCart 4
Go to Extensions > Installer and upload kv_product_labels.ocmod.zip.
Press the install button next to Product Labels & Badges.
Go to Extensions > Extensions, choose Modules and install Product Labels & Badges.
Install on OpenCart 3
Go to Extensions > Installer and upload kv_product_labels-oc3.ocmod.zip.
Go to Extensions > Modifications and press Refresh.
Go to Extensions > Extensions, choose Modules and install Product Labels & Badges.
First steps
Open Catalog > Product labels and go to Preset gallery.
Press Use on a design, for example "Sale ribbon". It is added switched off and the editor opens.
Check the text, look and rules, tick Running and save.
Open a category page in your store: the products with a special price now carry the label.
Updating
Upload the new package the same way. Labels and settings stay; tables and settings are brought up to date the next time you open the extension.
Removing
Uninstalling removes all labels and the settings. Sticker images you uploaded stay in your image folder.
Configuration
Catalog > Product labels > Settings
Setting
What it does
Status
Off: the store shows no labels. Your labels are kept.
Product lists
Labels on product cards: category, search, specials, brand pages, product modules and related products.
Product page
Labels on the main product image.
Labels per image
How many labels one image can show (1 to 9). The first labels in the list order win.
Size in lists / on the product page
Scales every badge, in percent.
Main image selector
Only for themes that hide the main product image from the automatic search: a CSS selector of the image. Leave empty otherwise.
Orders that count as sold
Order statuses counted by bestseller rules. None ticked: the processing and complete statuses from System > Settings > Option.
Licence key
The key from your Kavio Labs account.
Licence
The store shows labels for 14 days without a key. After that a valid key is needed for the storefront; the admin always works, and your labels are kept.
How the main image is found
On the product page the labels go on the image that links to the large popup image, then on the image with the product thumbnail address. Almost every theme works this way. If yours does not, enter the selector of the main image in Main image selector (your theme's developer can tell you which one).
Using Product Labels & Badges
The label list
Catalog > Product labels shows every label as a card with a preview, its state (Running, Starts, Ended, Off), where it shows and its rules. Edit, switch on or off, copy and delete from the card. Labels show in their Order: lower numbers first, and when an image has more matching labels than allowed, the first ones win.
Creating a label
Press New label, or Use a design in the Preset gallery.
Label: a name for you and the text on the badge. Placeholders:
{discount} percent off the regular price (special price)
{save} the amount saved, with tax when your store shows prices with tax
{stock} units left
{days_left} days until the label or the special price ends, for example "3 days"
{rating} average stars, for example "4.5"
A product without a value (no special price for {discount}) does not get the label.
Look: shape, colours, finish, icon, text style, font and size, or Sticker image with a path from the image manager (for example catalog/stickers/new.png). The preview on the right changes as you type.
Where: one of 9 positions on the image; product lists, the product page or both.
Which products: tick rules and set their values, then choose whether all ticked rules or any of them must match. Picked products always get the label.
When and for whom: start and end dates (both included) and customer groups. No group ticked means everybody, guests included.

Product checker
Product checker answers "why does this product (not) show this label?". Search a product: you see its price, special price, stock, date, rating and sales, the labels drawn for lists and for the product page, and for every label the rules with the value that passed or failed. Choose a customer group to check what that group sees.
FAQ
Does it work with my theme?
Labels are laid over the product image that links to the product page, which is how nearly every theme builds a product card. Tested with the default OpenCart 4 and 3 themes. For the product page there is a setting for themes that hide the main image.
Are my product images changed?
No. Badges are drawn with CSS over the image; the image files stay as they are.
Does it slow the store down?
The rules are checked on the server with a few small queries per page for all products on it; the badges need no extra request.
Can a product show several labels?
Yes, up to the "Labels per image" setting. Labels in the same position stack.
Can I show a label only to wholesale customers?
Yes: tick their customer group in "When and for whom".
Does it use OCMOD?
No. Events only, no core file is changed.
What happens without a licence?
After the 14-day trial the store stops showing labels until a valid key is entered; the admin and your labels stay.
Server-side tracking for OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x: purchases, refunds, add to cart, checkout, product views and leads go from your server to the free official GA4 Measurement Protocol, Meta Conversions API and TikTok Events API, deduplicated with the browser pixels through shared event ids. Consent-aware, SHA-256 hashed customer data, order status mapping, queue with retries, test mode and an event log. No paid relay, events only, no OCMOD.
The department store theme for OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x: colour-coded departments, a department list beside the hero slider with two side promos, a big search with a department selector, tabbed product blocks, a 2 + 1 + 2 offer grid, deals of the day with real countdowns, a department showcase, a promotions band and a three-column product page with a sticky buy box. Four styles (Meridian, Harbor, Citrus, Night) and your own colours on top. Events only, no core changes.
Stop AI crawlers, scrapers, vulnerability scanners and unwanted countries before OpenCart 4.x or 3.0.x builds a page. Googlebot and Bingbot are verified by DNS and always allowed; 50+ bots get one switch each; country rules use free GeoIP databases and can close only the checkout; IP and network lists, rate limits, honeypots and the cart flood fix; a one-second challenge instead of a captcha; learning mode, dashboard, log, IP tester and Cloudflare export. No core changes, no OCMOD.
