How do I install the extension?
Upload. Extensions > Installer: upload the .ocmod.zip for your OpenCart version (4.x or 3.0.x). Both packages come with every license.
Install and enable. Extensions > Extensions > Modules: install, open the settings and switch it on. Events register themselves; nothing is patched.
Enter the license key. Paste the key from My licenses. Subdomains, staging and local hosts are included; you have 14 days to do it.

Do the extensions change core files?
No. They work through OpenCart events and standard extension types (modules, order totals, themes). No core file edits, no OCMOD patches, no theme template edits, so OpenCart updates and other extensions keep working.
Do I get packages for OpenCart 4 and OpenCart 3?
Yes. Every download has a package for OpenCart 4.0.2 to 4.1.x and one for OpenCart 3.0.3 to 3.0.5, and the license key works with both. Moving from OpenCart 3 to 4 later costs nothing.
What does the license cover?
One production store domain with every subdomain (www, shop., staging.), plus local development hosts such as localhost, *.local and *.test. A store on another domain needs its own license; a second-store license is 40% off. Photo & Video Reviews turns the plain OpenCart review tab into a review centre that sells: customers add photos and a short video to their review, and shoppers see a rating summary, a gallery of customer photos and videos, filters, verified buyer badges, your replies and helpful votes.
Photos and videos in the review form. Drag and drop up to 10 photos (JPG, PNG, WebP), upload a clip (MP4, MOV, WebM) or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link. Size, count and video length are checked in the browser and again on the server.
Privacy built in. Photos are turned upright, resized to 1600 px and saved without location, camera or date data; MP4 metadata is blanked. YouTube and Vimeo players load only after the shopper clicks play.
Rating summary. Average, star bars that filter the list, and a call to action with your reward note.
Customer photos and videos gallery above the reviews, with a full-screen viewer that shows the review next to the photo.
Filters and sorting. Stars, with photos or videos, verified buyers; most recent, most helpful, highest, lowest, photos first; "Show more reviews".
Trust signals. Verified buyer badges from real orders, store replies under the review, helpful votes (one per visitor).
Moderation. Media follow the OpenCart review approval or wait for their own approval; approve, hide, delete and reply on our page or right on the OpenCart review form.
Review rewards. A single-use OpenCart coupon (percent or fixed) e-mailed when a qualifying review is approved: photo, video or text, minimum rating, verified buyers only, minimum length.
Rich results. The rating and the newest reviews (with their photos and videos) as Product JSON-LD, skipped when another extension already prints rating data.
OpenCart's own review rules stay in charge: guest reviews, "only buyers can review", captcha and the review token are checked by OpenCart itself, and reviews keep living in OpenCart's review table. No OCMOD, no core file edits. One licence covers OpenCart 4 and 3. Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and 3.0.5.1 with the default themes; other 4.0.2.x to 4.1.x and 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.5.x versions are expected to work but are not tested.

First steps
Open Catalog > Photo reviews > Settings, check the photo and video limits and pick your accent colour.
Optional: switch on Review rewards to thank customers for photo reviews with a coupon.
Open a product page in your store and the Reviews tab: the review centre replaces the standard list and form.
Videos larger than your PHP upload limits cannot arrive. The settings page shows upload_max_filesize and post_max_size of your server and warns when they are lower than the video limit.
Updating
Upload the new package the same way. Reviews, photos, videos and settings stay; tables and settings are brought up to date the next time you open the extension.
Removing
Uninstalling removes the extension's tables (photos, videos, votes, replies, reward log), the image/kv_photo_reviews/ folder and the settings. The reviews themselves stay in OpenCart, and coupons already sent stay in Marketing > Coupons.

The coupon is a normal OpenCart coupon: one use in total, one per customer, signed-in customers only. The e-mail goes out through your store's mail settings.
Licence
The licence key from your Kavio Labs account. Without a valid key the storefront features pause after the 14-day trial and the standard OpenCart reviews show; the admin always works and nothing is deleted.
Using Photo & Video Reviews
What shoppers see
On the Reviews tab of every product page:
Summary: the average rating, star bars (click a bar to filter), and "Write a review" with your reward note.
Customer photos & videos: the newest media of approved reviews. Click one to open the full-screen viewer with the review next to it; use the arrows, the arrow keys or Escape.
Filters and sorting: All, With photos & videos, Verified buyers, each star rating; Most recent, Most helpful, Highest rating, Lowest rating, With photos first.
Review cards: name, verified badge, date, stars, text, photos and videos, your reply and "Helpful? Yes / No".
The form: stars, name, review, photos (drag and drop or browse, previews with remove), a video clip or a YouTube or Vimeo link, and the store's captcha when it is on for reviews. Without reviews the form is open at once.
New reviews wait for approval as usual in OpenCart.
Moderating
Catalog > Photo reviews opens the overview: average rating, share of reviews with photos or videos, the media count, what is waiting and the coupons sent. Below are the reviews waiting for approval with their photos and videos.
On each review card you can:
Approve or Unpublish the review (through OpenCart's own review model, so the product rating stays right);
show, hide or delete each photo or video;
Mark as verified buyer or remove the badge;
write a store reply that shows under the review;
open the review in OpenCart.
Reviews lists every review with filters (waiting for approval, with photos or videos, without a reply) and a search by product or author. The same tools appear under the standard form in Catalog > Reviews > Edit.
Rewards
When a review is approved (here, in Catalog > Reviews, or when you show a hidden photo that makes it qualify), the extension checks the reward conditions and e-mails a single-use coupon. Rewards lists every coupon with its customer, product, e-mail state and whether it was used.
Deleting
Deleting a review in OpenCart (or its product) deletes its photos and videos, files included.
FAQ
Does it work with my theme?
The review centre has its own markup and styles, so it looks the same on any theme and adapts to the width of the review tab. On OpenCart 4 it replaces the review view; on OpenCart 3 it replaces the review form of the product page (and falls back to the review tab when a theme renames the form). Tested with the default OpenCart 4 and 3 themes.
Are my existing reviews kept?
Yes. Reviews stay in OpenCart's review table; the extension adds photos, videos, votes, replies and badges next to them. Switch it off and the standard review tab is back.
Where are the files stored?
In image/kv_photo_reviews/year/month/ with random names. Photos are saved as JPEG (largest side 1600 px plus a 640 px thumbnail) without EXIF, GPS, XMP or IPTC data. Videos are checked by their content, not by their name.
Do YouTube or Vimeo track my shoppers?
Not before they click play. The tile is drawn by the extension; the player loads only after the click, from youtube-nocookie.com or with Vimeo's do-not-track option.
What about spam?
OpenCart's own review checks apply (captcha, guest reviews, buyers only, review token on OpenCart 4), and one visitor can send at most five reviews with media per hour.
Does it change the product rating?
No. OpenCart computes the product rating from approved reviews as before; approving here goes through OpenCart's own review model.
Server-side tracking for OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x: purchases, refunds, add to cart, checkout, product views and leads go from your server to the free official GA4 Measurement Protocol, Meta Conversions API and TikTok Events API, deduplicated with the browser pixels through shared event ids.
