First release: popup, slide-in and spin wheel; codes only after the sign-up (shared coupon, unique single-use copy, Coupon Codes Pro batch); delay, scroll, exit and link triggers; page, device, visitor, group, store and cart targeting; schedule with countdown; A/B test with winner; leads with CSV.
How do I install the extension?
Upload. Extensions > Installer: upload the .ocmod.zip for your OpenCart version (4.x or 3.0.x). Both packages come with every license.
Install and enable. Extensions > Extensions > Modules: install, open the settings and switch it on. Events register themselves; nothing is patched.
Enter the license key. Paste the key from My licenses. Subdomains, staging and local hosts are included; you have 14 days to do it.
OpenCart 4.1.0.4, 3.0.5.1. Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and OpenCart 3.0.5.1. The Compatibility tab lists every version range.
Do the extensions change core files?
No. They work through OpenCart events and standard extension types (modules, order totals, themes). No core file edits, no OCMOD patches, no theme template edits, so OpenCart updates and other extensions keep working.
Do I get packages for OpenCart 4 and OpenCart 3?
Yes. Every download has a package for OpenCart 4.0.2 to 4.1.x and one for OpenCart 3.0.3 to 3.0.5, and the license key works with both. Moving from OpenCart 3 to 4 later costs nothing.
What does the license cover?
One production store domain with every subdomain (www, shop., staging.), plus local development hosts such as localhost, *.local and *.test. A store on another domain needs its own license; a second-store license is 40% off. You have 14 days after installing to enter the key. 12 months of updates and support are included; after that the extension keeps working and renewals are 50% off. How licensing works
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Ask for a full refund within 30 days of your first purchase, no reason needed: open a ticket or write to [email protected] with your order number. The money goes back to the card or bank account you paid with within 5 business days of approval. Refund policy
How do I get help?
Open a ticket from your account, so your license details are attached. We answer Monday to Friday: bug reports within 1 business day, how-to questions within 2. Support policy. Not a customer yet? Ask a pre-sales question.
Popups & Spin Wheel adds sign-up popups, exit offers, slide-ins and a spin wheel to OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x, on any theme. The discount code is never in the page: it is handed out one by one, after the shopper leaves an e-mail address and ticks the consent box.
Three layouts. A centred popup (with an optional image half), a slide-in card in a bottom corner, and a spin wheel.
A fair spin wheel. Every slice is as big as its chance, the chances are printed next to the wheel, and the result is picked on your server by the same weights. One spin per e-mail address.
Real codes. A shared OpenCart coupon code, a unique single-use copy of an OpenCart coupon (same discount, products and categories, valid for the days you choose), or a batch of Coupon Codes Pro.
The right moment. After a delay, at a scroll depth, when the mouse leaves the page, or from any link to #kv-popup-ID. Once per visit, again after 1 to 30 days, or only once. Never again after a sign-up.
The right visitor. Pages and OpenCart routes, devices, guests or customers, customer groups, stores and a minimum cart sub-total. Start and end time, with a countdown.
A/B tests. A second text for half of the visitors; views, sign-ups and rate per text, and a winner once the difference is clear.
Leads. Every address with its popup, wheel result, code and newsletter state; filter, search and CSV export. Existing customers who sign up with their account address get the newsletter box ticked.
No OCMOD, no core file edits, no outside service. One license covers OpenCart 4 and 3.
Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and 3.0.5.1. Other 4.0.2.x to 4.1.x and 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.5.x versions are expected to work but are not tested.
Installation
Requirements
OpenCart 4.0.2.0 to 4.1.x, or 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.5.x
PHP 7.4 or newer
Install on OpenCart 4
Go to Extensions > Installer and upload kv_popup_builder.ocmod.zip.
Press the install button next to Popups & Spin Wheel.
Go to Extensions > Extensions, choose Modules and install Popups & Spin Wheel.
Install on OpenCart 3
Go to Extensions > Installer and upload kv_popup_builder-oc3.ocmod.zip.
Go to Extensions > Modifications and press Refresh.
Go to Extensions > Extensions, choose Modules and install Popups & Spin Wheel.
First steps
Open Marketing > Popups & Spin Wheel.
Pick a starting point: Sign-up with a code, Exit offer, Spin to win or Slide-in news. Or start blank.
For a code, make a coupon first in Marketing > Coupons (for example 10 % off), then pick it in Sign-up and reward.
Press Preview to see the popup, then Save popup. It shows in the store right away.
Updating
Upload the new package the same way. Popups, leads and settings stay; the extension brings its tables up to date by itself the next time you open it.
Removing
Uninstalling removes the popups, stats, leads and settings. Export your leads first. Coupons and orders are not touched.
Settings and leads
Settings
Show popups in the store: off hides every popup; the admin keeps working.
Consent text: the text next to the tick box under every e-mail field. Write what you will send and how to unsubscribe.
Prefix of unique codes: letters and digits, up to 6.
License key: from your Kavio Labs account. The extension works for 14 days without a key. Without an active license the storefront shows no popups; the admin is never blocked.
Leads
Marketing > Popups & Spin Wheel > Leads lists every address with its popup, A/B text, wheel result, code (used, not used yet or expired) and newsletter state. Filter by popup, search by address, delete single leads, and Export CSV for your mailing tool. Deleting a popup keeps its leads.
OpenCart itself keeps newsletter sign-ups only for customer accounts. With Newsletter ticked in a popup, a customer who signs up with the account address gets the newsletter box ticked; guests stay in the Leads list.
Stats
Views and sign-ups (or button clicks) are counted per day and per text. Reset stats in the list sets them back to zero.
Making popups
Layouts
Popup: centred over a dimmed page. Add an image (a file in the image folder, for example catalog/banner/summer.jpg, or a full https:// address) and it gets an image half.
Slide-in: a card in the bottom right or left corner; the page stays usable.
Spin wheel: the wheel with up to 8 segments and the chances next to it. A wheel always asks for an e-mail address.
Texts and A/B test
Every popup has a title, a text, a button and a text shown after the sign-up. Tick A/B test a second text and write text B: each visitor gets A or B (half and half) and keeps it. The list shows the rate of both; B wins (or A) appears once both texts have 100 views or more and the difference is clear at 95 %.
Rewards
No code: the sign-up is kept in the Leads list.
Shared coupon code: the code of an OpenCart coupon, the same for everybody.
Unique single-use code: a copy of the coupon you pick, made for each sign-up: same discount, products, categories and minimum total, used once, valid for the days you set. Codes look like PB-7KQ2-M9TX (the prefix is in Settings). Unused copies past their end date are removed once a day; used ones stay with their order.
Coupon Codes Pro batch: with our Coupon Codes Pro installed, each sign-up gets the next free code of a batch.
On a wheel, every segment has its own reward. A segment with weight 0 is left off the wheel.
When and where
Delay, scroll depth and exit intent (desktop): the first one that fires opens the popup. Any link to #kv-popup-ID (the ID is shown in the editor) opens it on a click.
Frequency: once per visit, again after 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, or only once. After a sign-up a popup never shows again to that visitor. Saving the popup starts it over for everybody.
Pages and More routes, devices, visitors (guests or customers), customer groups, stores and cart sub-total at least. Checkout and the success page never get popups.
Schedule: start and end time; with Show a countdown the popup counts down to the end and closes at zero.
One popup per page view: when several fit, the one with the higher priority comes first.
FAQ
Can shoppers read the code in the page source?
No. The page only gets the texts and the chances. Codes are sent one by one after the sign-up.
Is the wheel fair?
Yes. Each slice is as big as its chance, the chances are listed next to the wheel, and the server picks the result by the same weights. The wheel then turns to that slice.
Can somebody spin twice?
One result per e-mail address and popup: the same address gets its first result again. There is also a limit of 10 tries per visitor in 10 minutes.
Where do the codes come from?
From your OpenCart coupons. A unique code is a single-use copy of a coupon you made in Marketing > Coupons, so it works in the normal cart and checkout.
Does it slow the store down?
Only pages with a popup get its small script and styles, inline, with no extra files. Pages without a popup get nothing.
Does it send e-mails?
No. Addresses are kept in the Leads list for your own mailing tool.
Which versions are supported?
Tested on OpenCart 4.1.0.4 and 3.0.5.1, any theme. No OCMOD and no core edits.
Server-side tracking for OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x: purchases, refunds, add to cart, checkout, product views and leads go from your server to the free official GA4 Measurement Protocol, Meta Conversions API and TikTok Events API, deduplicated with the browser pixels through shared event ids. Consent-aware, SHA-256 hashed customer data, order status mapping, queue with retries, test mode and an event log. No paid relay, events only, no OCMOD.
The department store theme for OpenCart 4.x and 3.0.x: colour-coded departments, a department list beside the hero slider with two side promos, a big search with a department selector, tabbed product blocks, a 2 + 1 + 2 offer grid, deals of the day with real countdowns, a department showcase, a promotions band and a three-column product page with a sticky buy box. Four styles (Meridian, Harbor, Citrus, Night) and your own colours on top. Events only, no core changes.
Stop AI crawlers, scrapers, vulnerability scanners and unwanted countries before OpenCart 4.x or 3.0.x builds a page. Googlebot and Bingbot are verified by DNS and always allowed; 50+ bots get one switch each; country rules use free GeoIP databases and can close only the checkout; IP and network lists, rate limits, honeypots and the cart flood fix; a one-second challenge instead of a captcha; learning mode, dashboard, log, IP tester and Cloudflare export. No core changes, no OCMOD.
